On-Going Service Notices:
Service Notice 122: Policy Black Listing of IP Addresses.
The Zen SPAM Blocker engine at Spamhaus (which is used as part of our anti-SPAM measures), now includes a Policy Block List (PBL), which effectively blacklists all IP addresses that should not be sending un-'Authenticated' e-mail.
This means that if you run a mail server on your local LAN and do not have a fixed IP address allocated by your ADSL provider & registered with the Spamhaus PBL as a mail source, that it will no longer be possible to send e-mail directly via our e-mail servers (unless using 'Authentication'), or directly to any ISP's servers which are also using the popular Zen SPBL engine as part of their anti-SPAM measures.
The implementation of this new measure will be seamless for all Stylusnet Clients who already use 'Authentication' when sending e-mail via our mail servers. For those Clients sending e-mail directly from their desktop computer, lap-top or mobile device, it is simply a matter of ensuring that your e-mail Client software is set to use 'Authentication' (Please see Service Notice 106 below). However this measure now also affects Corporate MS Exchange Server users who send via our e-mail servers and who are now also required to use 'Authentication' to connect to our e-mail servers.
Stylusnet customers who are experiencing problems connecting to our e-mail servers should refer to the knowledge base note under service notice 106 below or contact our support department.
